67% of Republicans Oppose Fossil Fuel Subsidies

A surprising factoid from the Yale/George Mason Universities study released recently, 

"69 percent of Americans oppose federal subsidies to the fossil fuel industry, including 67 percent of registered Republicans, 80 percent of Independents, and 68 percent of Democrats."

 A recent Bloomberg article adds that fossil fuels received about 6x more subsidies than renewables globally this year and are "creating market distortions that encourage wasteful consumption."
